Sustainable Wellbeing for a more Sustainable World
We are Positive Education UK & Ireland, and we look at 'what is right' with people, simplifying research-based positive psychology approaches to promote positive mental health for whole school communities. The outcomes are better relationships, lower behavioural challenges, and higher attainment, which positively impacts the wider world.
Rather than just focusing on pupil wellbeing, we prioritise the mental wellness of the adults—parents and teachers—who most influence young people through their "mirror neurons". Positive Education creates a common, inclusive, unified language that bridges school and home, through a blend of positive psychology, neuroscience, and neuro-affirming practices. We're not just reacting to rising mental health issues; we're proactively building a legacy of sustainable wellbeing that aims to reverse destructive trends, shift societal perceptions, and collectively heal our world.

What is Positive Psychology?
Positive psychology is a branch of psychology that focuses on the study of positive emotions, attitudes and behaviours. The field of positive psychology seeks to understand what goes right in life, not just what goes wrong, and it accentuates the human capacity for growth and achievement.
Positive psychology in education helps pupils and teaching staff develop a sense of purpose and meaning and offers a universal language for young people and grown-ups to speak openly about their thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental way. Positive psychology also teaches individuals how to be more optimistic and resilient in adversity. Incorporating positive psychology into lessons has been shown to help pupils cope with stress, develop self-efficacy, improve the quality of their relationships, and increase attainment.
When parents and teachers learn positive psychology coaching tools alongside children, the success rate in building and maintaining these positive practices for life increases exponentially.
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid".
